MAN REPORTEDLY PUTS SISTER, 16, IN THE FAMILY WAY

According to reports, the girl kept the pregnancy away from her brother until a neighbour found her vomiting at their residence.

A 26-year-old man, Oriade Rotimi, has been invited for questioning by the police, following reports that he impregnated his sister, who lives with him in a room apartment located in Ajagbandi, Lagos.

Punch News reported that the 16-year-old girl was encouraged to explain what was wrong with her after a neighbour found her vomiting at their residence.

She however confessed that it was her elder brother, Rotimi, who put her in the family way.

According to the girl, her brother often goes into a feat of jealousy and rage whenever he sees her in the midst of male companies.

On one occasion, Rotimi allegedly made love to her and made it a consistent thing since then.

A neighbour of the suspect, Clifford Amechi, gave a confirmation of the story in an interview with Punch.

 “One day, he made love to her and since then, he continued to do it until she became pregnant”, he said. 

Reports have it that the victim did not inform the suspect who denied having a role in the incident that she was pregnant.

The complainant alleged that her husband impregnated another woman whom he introduced as his sister.

A woman identified as Francisca Obeji, has asked an Igando Magistrate's Court, to grant her request to end the marriage with her abusive husband, who reportedly impregnated his sister at their matrimonial home.

The husband, Ezekiel Obeji, allegedly brought his so-called sister to their home exactly four months after their wedding ceremony.

Speaking at the court, the complainant revealed that her husband stopped having sexual intercourse with her three months into the marriage.

 “My husband, who married me as a virgin, stopped making love to me three-months after our wedding." “Four-months into our wedding, he brought a young woman home and introduced her to me as his `sister’."

“He told me that she would be living with us and I accepted, because I didn’t know all his siblings." “After some months, this his ‘sister’ got pregnant and my husband ran away with her to an unknown destination and sublet our apartment to another tenant without my knowledge." “I had to vacate the apartment that day as the new tenant moved in immediately my husband absconded."

According to Francisca, her husband had showed no gratitude to her for the efforts she made to change his financial status. She is of the belief that he never loved her, also alleging that he married her because of her wealth.

“Ezekiel is ungrateful and I now know that he never truly loved me; he was only after my money."

“When he approached me for marriage, he was jobless, but when he pleaded with me to allow him join me in my business, I accepted." “After our wedding, he took over the business from me”, she said.
Adegboyega Omilola, the court president asked the complainant to submit an affidavit of service to enable him deliberate on the matter in the absence of the defendant, who has never been part of the court session.

FATHER PUTS PEPPER IN 10-YR-OLD DAUGHTER’S PRIVATE PART OVER LOTTERY TICKET

An Ogudu Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, remanded a 37-year-old father, Okoro Odia, in prison custody for putting ground pepper on his 10-year-old daughter’s private part for not submitting his lotto number to the agent.

Okoro is standing trial on a three-count charge of indecent treatment, attempt to commit murder and assault.

Prosecutor, Ihiehie Lucky, told the court that the accused committed the alleged offences sometime in June and August.

Ihiehie said that Okoro, a furniture maker, unlawfully and indecently dealt with his daughter. He said the step-mother, Abayomi Maria, reported that the accused always beat up the girl.

The prosecutor said the complainant told the police that Okoro had, sometime in June, used a dog chain to tie the girl to a ceiling fan and left her there.

Ihiehie told the court that the accused tied the daughter to the ceiling because she failed to submit his lotto number to the agent.

He told the court that the indecent assault on the girl was reported by the step-mother to Ketu Police Station.

Maria, the prosecutor said, told policemen that on August 8 at about 8p.m., Okoro called his daughter to bring her school report sheet.

He said: “When he saw that she failed, he put pepper in her private part, eyes and all over her body.

“Her screams alerted the step-mother who tried to stop him. But he beat her up.”

Ihiehie said the offences contravened Sections 135, 228(1) and 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, denied the charges.

The magistrate, Mrs Temitope Oladele, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Oladele said that the sureties must deposit N100,000 each into the Chief Registrar’s account and show evidence of gainful employment in a reputable organisation.

She also said that the sureties must show evidence of tax payment and their addresses verified by the court, and adjourned the case till October 13 for mention.

Barely one month after winning millions in a betting lottery, a man is confronted with the decision whether to take back his wife who left him when he was poor.

A poor farmer in Kenya, whose wife left him because he was too poor to take care of her, was left in shock after the woman surfaced in his home after she heard that he had won the whooping sum of Sh20 million (about N63m), in a lottery.

Joseph Onywera, according to Kenya Daily Nation, said he was very surprised to see the woman who had gotten married to another man after she left him and vowed never to allow her back in his life since she left him when he was poor.

The 62-year-old Onywera, a farmer from Kapiyo village in Kano district in the Kisumu County, won the windfall from the Betway Company after he correctly predicted the outcome of 13 football matches in the English Premier League and barely a month after he cleared the cash, his estranged wife came running back.

Vowing not to take her back, Onywera said:
“I saw her come into my compound and I wondered. She had told me to my face that she would only return after I die. So I told her to go away since I am still alive.
Ever since she left, several incidents have happened that would attract her attention. My mother died but she did not turn up for her burial. My father also died and I had an accident, but she did not bother to check on us.

I am a humble rice and tomato farmer. A certain woman who respected and loved me when all I had was farming, will be the one to live with me in my permanent house.”
Onywera also added that he has started work on a three-bedroom apartment and plans to put his money into good use, having bought some plots of land for mechanized farming, a pickup truck and a lorry to deliver his farm produce in town.

He concluded:
“This is not the first price that would make my heart stop with joy. I started gambling over 15 years ago and although the amounts were not as huge as this, I have gotten over the excitement.”

The 56-year-old clearing agent said his wife has maliciously accused him of using his son for ritual. He told the court’s president, Adegboyega Omilola, that his wife, Funmilayo, with whom he had two children in their 16-year-old marriage, was defaming his character.

He said: “My wife accused me of using my physically-challenged son for money ritual. It is God that blessed me with wealth, I never used my son. “Funmilayo beat me up in public and tore my clothes to rags. She is always raining curses on me very early in the morning and those curses are now coming to pass in my life”. Adedeji pleaded with the court to dissolve the marriage, that he was no longer in love and do not want to commit murder. “Please, dissolve the marriage before the devil uses me,” he begged the court. Funmilayo, a 49- year-old food vendor, owned up to the allegation of raining curses on her husband. She said: “Yes, I always rained curses on him because he used to beat me. On two occasions, he had beaten me to pulp and I ended up in hospital.” “My husband has refused to sleep with me for 12 years now for no just cause,” she added. The mother of two also said she accused her husband of using their son for money ritual because immediately the baby was born his money started booming.
She begged the court not to grant her husband’s request, saying she still loves him. The court president adjourned the case till June 23 for further hearing.
